Welcome to
ParaLabs!

A very warm welcome to our organisation and to our website.

For over ten years now, ParaLabs has been investigating human behaviour. The results of our research are constantly shaping our daily lives: many brand-name manufacturers use the results of our investigations to create more user-friendly products, for example. Our experts are consulted by both private and corporate clients, particularly when knowledge of patterns of the human mind and behaviour is an influencing factor in project or product design.

Our research is usually conducted through a series of public tests. For example, our international clients use the ParaLabs series of tests to perform analyses of different cultures, countries and compile statistics within different socio-economic and ethnic groups.

The research serves as basis for further tests and drives new international exploration and development. Together we work to help spread knowledge and understanding of important aspects of human cognition and behaviour.

I hope you enjoy browsing our website.

Managing Director of ParaLabs

IMPORTANT - PLEASE NOTE
17.04.2011 - 23:02 von ParaLabs

ParaLabs has recently learned that a number of 'mentalist-style' magicians have obtained some of our testing materials in order to present mental-magic 'effects' or tricks in an apparently convincing manner and in seemingly test conditions. We would like to make our clients and audiences aware of this so that they may exercise due caution in assessing these performances.

ParaLabs has always sought to scientifically investigate paranormal phenomena and provide appropriate explanations, demonstrations and uses of these phenomena to its students, clients and audiences. These mentalist-magicians base their effects on psychology, non-verbal communication and a variety of other techniques to seemingly reproduce some of the effects demonstrated in our laboratories.

The use of ParaLabs materials by persons other than ParaLabs trained personnel should therefore be treated with caution and circumspection.

Director, Customer Services.

08.02.2010 - 14:28 von ParaLabs

New class schedules online - enlarge your knowledge in the field of parapsychological research.

Despite many prejudices and uninformed opinions, the field of parapsychological studies is much more than dealing with ghosts and things that go bump in the night.

Parapsychologists are in general not very psychic (and psychics are seldom parapsychologists). So we have designed a programme to answer your questions about parapsychology and to show you more about what it involves.

Book your classes now and enlarge your skills.

Paralabs Research Report 2009/2010
16.01.2010 - 13:17 von ParaLabs

In 2009 the PLF received the research results from 331 researchers from around the world. Most of the results came from North America (98) and Europe (94). Additionally, more than 119 assistants conducted their research in South America (55), Asia (45) and Australia (39).

Our research is done by means of as series of public tests. Consultants from all over the world conducted their research based on the ParaLabs test series. It was remarkable to note that in Central Europe the PLF increased the number of its staff to 30 assistants in 2009, a rise of about 35 percent (2008: 84, 2007: 61, 2006: 43). The work of our European division became the most important source of analysis and reports to our central office.

The European main office near Siegen (Germany) is acts as a central point for 94 researchers and assistants from the UK, Spain, France, The Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Italy and Poland. It is proposed that there will be an increase of staff to 120 assistants by the end of 2010.

One of the main questions for the PLF in 2009 concerned the occurrence of deviations in test series. The PLF´s assistants use standardized test material, so the results were compared internationally. Surprisingly, the results were comparable within ethic groups, sharing the same social environment and living conditions.

Reports showed that test series conducted in industrialized countries resulted in an mean error rate of ±18% (North America 20%, Europe 16%, and Australia 19%). By contrast, the mean error rate increased dramatically in fast-growing countries and the developing world (as measured by GDP). For instance, in South America the error rate were 68 out of 100 tests on average and in Asia 58 out of 100.

Noteworthy, the error rate in Germany rose surprisingly from 12% in 2007, 18% in 2009 to now 29% within the last years. The reasons are manifold, e.g. in the social imbalances, which might come from the breakup of social groups or differences in the educational system. In 2010, the PLF will continue their effort to study this phenomenon.

Jubilee Congress reviewed
03.02.2009 - 13:59 von ParaLabs

Yes, it's done - our PLF Jubilee Congress is sadly over. 10 years of scientific research has been recalled and reviewed and many friends, patrons and sponsors gathered for that meeting at the ParaLab facilities.

On Saturday January 3rd 2009 Mr. Mees, co-managing director of the PLF in Central Europe bid his guests welcome. In his speech he paid tribute to all vanguards who expedited the ParaLabs research. His special thanks were given to Mr. Charles van Angeln and Mr. Art Dickerson. Mrs. Loreen Dickerson conveyed a letter from her husband who, unfortunately, was unable to attend owing to a minor car accident just before the congress. Mr. Dickerson, co-founder of the Paralabs Facilities, inspired the audience with his letter in which he remarked on his confidence about the PLF's future by presenting two new patrons: Mr. R. Burghoff and Mr. Evan Elder (Department of Psychiatry, Alfonso General Hospital, Tasonville, CA).

In a few weeks the PLF will start a close cooperation with the AGH to intensify its research in the field of human sense and perception.

The remainder of the evening mold by The Great Kenzini and Mr. Irving Bizarre as its best.

On Sunday and Monday about 500 visitors took part on the guided tours around the ParaLabs facilities.
Normally the area is not publicly accessible. Public interest was so great that the organizers had to arrange for additional guided tours on Monday.

Also the lectures by Mr. Heine, Mrs. Heine and Mr. Hammer were overcrowded first, so the venue was quickly transferred to the PLFs main auditorium.

Because of its enormous success Mr. Fred M. Wonders closed this year’s convention with an announcement – that the PLF congress will now become an annual event.

The next congress will therefore take place on January 8th to 11th 2010.

PLF collaborates with Mr. Claude Lemann (BDDA)
17.12.2008 - 18:17 von ParaLabs

The PLF is proud to announce a collaborative research project with Mr. Claude Lemann (BDDA). Mr. Lemann works as an economist for such prestigious societies as the Franzheim Institutes and American Affairs to research actual economic evolution. Moreover Mr. Lemann commands skills as a fully qualified coach for phatic communication.

Based on his multifaceted skills the PLF are pleased to announce a new branch of its research activities: Mr. Lemann will head a new team exploring the effects of the world market crisis related to human behaviour.

"In the past broad levels of the population showed the phenomenon of become receptive to promises by seedy figures, doubtable experts and mountebanks. Now it is our work to discover why, in times of crisis, so many people loses their sense of attention", says Mr. Lemann. "We will research why so many people get credulous when times are bad".

The "Lemann Task Force" was founded on 11/15/2008; the main office is located at the PLFs main building, 2nd floor, aisle 6. Mr. Lemann's team is supported by the PLF's worldwide research network.
