. Eric Samuels

Eric Samuels’ journey into mentalism has taken many twists and turns. He was a professional drummer in his teens, major market radio show host in his twenties, and stand-up comic in his thirties.

Never having studied mentalism or magic in his youth, it was not until his early forties that Samuels became intrigued by mentalism and headed down a path that resulted in his leaving a highly successful 30-year career as a radio broadcasting executive to become a full-time mentalist and speaker.

Combining his background as a corporate executive with his study of psychology and love of mentalism Samuels has since performed corporate stage shows and keynote presentations around the world.

The result is a careful balance of both the visceral and cerebral, leaving his audience thinking about and feeling what they’ve experienced.

Samuels has recently become quite active in creating routines and tools for mentalists, through his web site www.MentalismTools.com. His innovative products include The White Box billet box, Thought-Slicing, a two-phase jig-saw puzzle routine, and his newest invention, TableVision. His first book Setting the Stage is set for release early in 2015.

Samuels is also a Performance Consultant working with mentalists throughout the world, combining the talent development skills that he’s cultivated throughout his career with his passion for imaginative, provocative presentations.

Samuels’ performing philosophy can be summed up as follows:

Consider being alone on stage having no ‘tricks;’ only your personality and story-telling skills to hold the audience’s complete attention. Next, think about being on that same stage with a different audience, having absolutely no narrative, only effects that are so well crafted that they, alone, keep everyone on the edge of their seats. If we can achieve these individual goals, imagine the combined power of these two elements being seamlessly woven together. This is my goal every time I step on stage.”
